Jorge Masvidal is looking to take Colby Covington out in similar fashion as how he stopped Ben Askren in Saturday’s UFC 272 headliner.

Owner of the fastest knockout in the promotion’s history, Masvidal landed an incredible flying knee knockout of Askren in just five seconds at UFC 239. That led to the  now-famous “super necessary” line from Masvidal, who followed the devastating blow with two extra punches despite Askren already being out cold.

The lead-up to that fight consisted of a lot of trash talk, which got Masvidal eager to shut Askren up. Being a former teammate-turned foe, Covington has turned things up a notch by making things personal with Masvidal, who vows to hand Covington a similar fate to Askren as “Gamebred” takes on another strong wrestler.

As expected, their pre-fight press conference was all over the place, but prior to both men facing off, Masvidal sent Covington a stern warning from afar by rubbing his knee.
