MIAMI – For the first time since 2015, Ray Borg is on a three-fight winning streak, but he’s not feeling all that good about it.
Borg, a former UFC flyweight title challenger, won his third consecutive bout Friday night when he earned a tough split decision against Ricky Bandejas on Friday at Eagle FC 46 from FLXcast Arena.
Afterward, Borg (16-5) told MMA Junkie what disappointed him about the performance.
“I knew he was tough. I knew he was scrappy,” said Borg, whose left eye was swollen shut. “Honestly, I made a lot of mistakes that I shouldn’t have made in that fight. I tried to force too many things. I got a little bit overexcited on how things were going my way in the ground game, and when I was really close to finishing him in the first, I got over-excited. I was trying too hard to get it there for the finish.”
