LONDON – It had been a while since Sergei Pavlovich had a chance to fight. But it’s not like he wanted to make up for lost time by spending a bunch of it in the cage.

Pavlovich (15-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) needed only a little more than four minutes to tear through Shamil Abdurakhimov (20-7 MMA, 5-5 UFC) for a TKO on the UFC Fight Night 204 prelims Saturday at The O2 in London.

After a loss to Alistair Overeem in his promotional debut in 2018, Pavlovich had a pair of 2019 stoppage wins over Marcelo Golm and Maurice Greene before an extended stay on the sidelines. Injuries and visa and travel issues kept him out in 2020 and 2021.

But he made a statement against Abdurakhimov and hopes for a return to regular fights in 2022.

Check out Pavlovich’s full post-fight interview in the video above.
